“…And while I used to be in love with Daiya products, somehow the weird, plastic taste eventually turned me off. Now I won’t go near the stuff. I’m currently a big Follow Your Heart fan, but I recently tried some samples of Heidi Ho Organics Cheeze, and I had to share the good word.”

“…Before becoming vegan, I was a big fan of Greek orzo salad because of the tanginess that feta cheese brought as a finishing touch. So I got excited last year when I discovered a new Portland company called Heidi Ho Organics, which makes a soy-based feta-style crumble that gets its zing from white wine vinegar and a splash of balsamic.”

Turning Veganese! more…
“…We topped with cheese and baked another 10 minutes. This is Heidi Ho organics, chipotle cheddar. We liked that it was low calorie (about half that of dairy cheese) and it had a nice chipotle flavor but it wasn’t particularly cheesy and didn’t melt like some other vegan cheeses. This didn’t stop us from eating the entire block. It was tasty, just not cheesy.”

“…The ingredients are all pure and natural, with nothing hard to pronounce or indistinguishable like many other alternative cheeses that are on the market. As an added bonus, since they are hazelnut based (with the exception of the soy feta), they are a great option for a higher protein cheese substitute.”

“..these hazelnut-based cheezes are much less processed than some of the more famous ones, like Daiya or Follow Your Heart. On the plus side, they’re…well, less processed, which many people appreciate as its own virtue. ”
